The photos below show an area for a handwash laundry sink which is located at a corner of a big bathroom. We are going to have 8” high backsplash all around this laundry sink (8" high to maintain consistency with the backsplash design in the rest of the bathroom). Should we do all five sides (walls 1 to 4 plus an inch of the countertop overhang on wall 5), or just four sides? If we do all five sides, there will be two Schluter trims, one at the external corner of walls 4 and 5, and another one at where the countertop overhang stops on wall 5. I usually agree with the professionals (tile installer and interior designer) that the backsplash should follow the countertop, but I am not sure in this case and could not find any reference online. Please share your views. Thank you.
