Adding an area rug will also warm up the dining room. I also prefer picture #1.

Sorry…neither as they seem to be lacking an inviting, coordinated feel. (Could be the lighting or how pictures were taken.)

Chandelier is WAY too high which is I assume why you tried the lamp in the corner (does not work). Lower the chandelier and if you can’t add sconces. The art is fine but doesn’t speak to me but may be meaningful to you. I never decorate my table except when it’s in use- day to day it’s clear.

Some rug ideas

I like the simple arrangement on the right..you did good with what you have..maybe add a long low centerpiece a bit minimal..a little bit organic to blend with the pretty outdoor scene. I Like your table set…can the lighting be lowered? or can you post a better image of it?

I like the contrast in your wall decor but the arrangement on the right needs more of what ever those discs are. It's over all too small.

Yes if the light can be lowered..but usually if the wires are cut short…you can’t change it..😕…I would not add a rug I dont think you have enough space…what is the room size? and table size?

Agree with most of the comments, I would say add a rug, even if its on the small side, lower the fixture and add a much larger statement piece of art. The art now is lacking personality.

I like the first photo. Just need to lower the light fixture. Very nice table and chairs!

Between the two I like the photo on the right. Not sure if it is a trick of the light or the type of bulb in your chandelier but the colors in the photo on the right are much warmer and more inviting.

I would suggest to add an area rug to give some warmth to the room.
