The checkered rug seems out of place here. If your style is traditional would suggest a classic oriental rug instead with a matching runner going down the hallway.

I personally don’t like matching rugs but you do you. Yes to a new rug at the front door and yes to bringing in something multicolored. Then do a long upholstered ottoman under the table in a fabric that is complementary to the rug (pick up some of that fabulous green from the other room). A lamp that is a wee bit larger with a white linen shade too.

I do not like that mirror with the entry door too much going on the DR is like a toatlly different house so not sure about where you are going. That rug has got to go no matter what. I would do a large piece of art where the mirro is and no lamp since seeing the cord is not attractive maybe a lovely vase filled with fresh flowers . Then I would be looking for wall paper in that staircase .

You referenced three different looks and based on your dining room, it’s hard to suggest. Have you looked on line for inspiration/saved pictures of your favorites and can provide, then the what/how advice will be more suited.

The clear console doesn't fit. I agree with Maureen that the three styles you mention aren't the same. The foyer is the introduction to your house. What you've shown us of your dining room is quite traditional. You don't want people to be surprised when they walk from the foyer into your living room or dining room and the style changes. Then it looks like you wanted to change styles, but stopped after doing one room. The stairs and wainscot are also traditional, so while you don't need to be doing a heavy, old fashioned traditional style, you don't want to be going too far afield.

You have a large airy space and too much going on with the various eye jarring grid patterns.

As mentioned by other helpers the check rug needs to be gone too.

As suggested,a vibrant oriental would look good.

The big fussy mirror ,corded lamp and plexi?side table are too intrusive in that space.

The side table visually intrudes on the area of the last step...even if there is room to scoot by, the feeling is of being crowded and hemmed in.

A much smaller table may work better.

You are lucky to have a lot of space to work with!

I'd put pictures on the walls. Use matching dark frames. I'd do either family or places you love.

Focus on the staircase at the main feature - aconces on the walls and a stair runner. A mirror and small table at the foot of the stairs will be the cherry on top.

Look at Thibault wallpapers, especially their Colony collection. Fabulous prints. Some have the gorgeous green of your dining room walls. Bring a bold statement wallpaper in your elegant space! Love it!

I came across a transitional style and remembered your posting. If comfortable with mixing and looking for a second piece (strip and refinish if need be) start there. Accessories can range from traditional to contemporary.

I wouldn’t add anything on staircase, but suggest a large piece of art (with a light) on landing.

Perhaps it's due to lighting conditions, but the walls in your entry appear to be badly painted--they look splotchy. Is it better in person? If not, fix that. :)

The chandelier is just throwing shadows.

I’m a huge RL fan too. I think the table is great, especially with an antique upholstered bench underneath as was suggested earlier. Definitely a shaded lamp. I would do either an antique wood or gold mirror or a large RL like oil painting instead of the current mirror.
