I prefer 2 or 3 but even better, the idea of a Persian style in traditional strong colors.

Treat the counters as neutral and get an old fashioned rug in saturated blues, burgundies, greens...

I like one the best. I compliments without having to be an exact match and brings some movement and another focal point into the space. Five is the next best but it almost matches too well as to verge on boring.

I do not like actual runners in kitchens they are a tripping hazard IMO but you could do an anti fatique mat in a solid for inforn of the sink or range and let your lovely floors show

Of your choices, I like #5 the best. I love stiley’s ideas too. I used to get my runners like that from TJ Maxx or Home Goods or now, Overstock, etc. They aren’t expensive and withstood wear. After a few years, I didn’t mind throwing them out or repurposing. While I like the comfort of anti fatigue mats, I find them ugly and an equal trip hazard.

Instead of just pattern/color driving your decision, suggest rug be stain resistant and non-slip. It’s a long, highly used area, so practicality is really important and lean darker for more longevity.

So I have purchased a few rugs... and exhanged a few that did not work. im waiting in a pottery barn rug, but have included a couple if pics of what I think might work. what do you think?

I like the #5 most but if you are interested in Antifatigue kitchen rugs and runners with bit of colors then I have a plenty of options.
