I adore my Galley Workstations

We are at the end of a long kitchen renovation. I really splurged, and I have to say that my favorite aspect of my kitchen are my Galley Workstations. I so highly recommend their function, especially if you cook a lot. Prep takes half the time!

I have the 4’ for veggie prep, the 3’ for mostly dish cleanup and coffee-making, and the 2’ for my pantry/scullery.

The 4’ is my favorite to make cooking and especially veggie prep a breeze. Everything takes a fraction of the time with them- you take almost no steps, your main “counter” is right over your sink. No bending for the colander because it is already there with a drying rack right above for larger veggies. The cutting board is also right there with a bowl beneath to immediately transfer ingredients.

All my cooking mess stays on that sink, which cleans up in a jiffy. My marble counters stay clean because they are barely used other than to place ingredients I am about to prep on the sink. All the mixing of ingredients takes place in the bowl I pull out from beneath the sink’s cutting board, and for larger things I have the extra large bowl Galley calls a washing bowl. I chose to put pull out trash cans directly under each sink and that saves steps and time, too.

On my 3’ sink I can sit my coffee pot on the drying rack so it is at eye level and under my filtered water faucet. That way I can easily keep my eye on it while I load the coffee filter, coffee and get stevia in my mug. So much more efficient.

My 2’ pantry sink isn’t used very often but with the drying rack it simply becomes an extension of the counter. Sink function is there when I need it but otherwise the space gets used like a counter as I unload groceries, etc.

Thanksgiving cooking took half the time it usually does. Veggies are a total pleasure. I know the Galley is pricey but there are other cheaper workstation sinks out there if it is out of your budget.
