Can you post pics of your flooring and shower/tub finishes? Also, what is the style of the vanity? Do you have a rendering to post?

We do not have flooring selected either. We ordered a beautiful Kohler freestanding tub, and have brass hardware knobs throughout house so likely ordering brass gold Kohler fixtures in bathroom. Contractor is building vanity- shaker style and maple, with double round sinks. We are really looking for inspiration from others!

Maple does not love stain. It loves paint. Why? Because it is hard as rock, and tend to result in blotchy results.It is at its best in its natural finish and with a clear coat.

The first and foremost aspect of a bath renovation is your layout and plan, to the very inch for comfort and codes.

The second aspect is the look and feel you are after, and the finishes that suit that look and feel

A contractor is a technician, and virtually never a designer.

IF you are willing? Your best advice and avoidance of regrets of any kind? Show the existing bath in pictures. Show the new plan...any changes in location of fixtures, size etc. All the feet and inches, the window if any, the walls, entry points to master bed, to closet noted etc.

Your bath is all the relationships/harmony between shower walls, shower floor, AND the vanity and the vanity top. A marriage of all elements to make a lovely cohesive whole with comfortable clearances, storage, etc.
