I don't think LVP treads will result in traction.. There might be some graining texture but not enough to make a difference on a stair.

These are non slip options.

I put these in when our large dog was scared of stairs a few years back, and I'm just about to get them for the upper floors, since I feel I'm eventually going to fall carrying something.

Thank you. They are for a raised ranch style house so not sure if the plastic/rubber look will be the best. I see some doing runners but doesn’t it defeat the purpose of not having carpeted stairs?

It's part of interior decoratingr. Runners will soften the look of hardwood stairs and make it non-slip, along with noise dampening. You are combiing two elements. It's a very common design idea.

Installing LVP treads will still be slippery, especially if, your treads are pitched the incorrect direction - down.

There are many stair tread carpet type things you can add to the stairs and unless you have LVP everyhere it would be very odd to add it to just the stairs and no way would it be less slippery . Check out the carpet stair treads AMC mentioned

If the LVP you already have has been discontinued and you can't buy matching stair treads then you would have an odd looking mismatch. In any case, I agree with the other commenters who don't think it would less slippery anyway. People can fall on any type of surface. At least carpet cushions the blow. Do you have adequate handrails and lighting?

We are able to get the same LVP for the downstairs so no issue there but they do not have treads. We have lighting and railing

Most LVP companies don't have treads. You would put a piece of the flooring down and use a stair nosing trim piece to create the " tread".
