French doors would be nice and the easiest. It does not look like you have room to slide a pocket door to the left. You could also close down the opening and have a single pocket door.

Just be mindful of any switches or outlets that will need to be moved.

Yes my handyman is also and electrician so I’m not concerned with that, I just want the best look from foyer and yet practical

I’m not a pro but am a homeowner who just moved back into our vacation home after a whole house remodel in which we opted for pocket doors for a powder room and small reading room, but French doors for the opening toward our den.

Pocket doors leave more open floor space in the interior of the room since there is no door swing but can have some problems depending on the quality of hardware used in the pocket. I agree with the previous poster that it doesn’t look like you have enough room for double pocket doors as the wall is not wide enough on the side of the opening
toward the front door. In my opinion, a single pocket door seems less formal than I’d want immediately off that foyer. Given that, I’d opt for double French doors and then think about whether you want glass in the doors (whole or 3/4 glass with panel below), semi-sheer curtains on the glass for some privacy, and whether you want to keep the full existing opening width (is it 6’?) or opt to reduce that width and have two 30” doors instead. My personal preference would be to have this opening NOT be as wide as the front entry door system (incl relates).

My apologies for odd break in my post and lack of paragraphs. Also last word was supposed to be “re-lites” (the tall fixed glass panels either side of front door).

I should also add that I also have a home office immediately off front foyer like yours. Ours has double French doors with gathered semi-sheer curtains on the interior side of the glass. The. room is private enough that my husband (who is a loud talker when on the phone or in online meetings) has taken calls and conducted online classes in there without bothering other family members and without being bothered when I’ve welcomed visitors in the front door.

French doors certainly look classy. Your doorway looks like it could be made smaller. In the room is there another place for a door so if you closed off the doorway you could get to your office from another door? That would give you THE MOST privacy. With the open dining room your hall could be walled off and it won't become a cave. A pocket door won't give you the quiet you might be looking for. I think most would choose french doors. Single opening is all that is needed but double glass will look best.

Yes I have another door that leads to a hall. I think the original house plan this room was a bedroom and there was a wall. I’ll have to think about that

Don’t judge!! lol. I know I need it organized too. I want some built ins but this large opening is hard to deal with.

Then for me it would be a no brainer. Fill in the large opening to the front hall. The previous owner must have had customers coming and going??? Maybe they used that space as a sitting room IDK but for your purposes, a full wall would make the most sense.
