wood slat wall project

Trying to DIY a walnut look wood slat wall in my living and dining room - I am going to try staining 1x2 pine with a walnut stain but worried it's not going to look good - has anyone used any of these ready made products instead or found another DIY solution that's more cost effective? 2 of the companies only offer for 8ft ceiling height and my dining room goes up to 10ft so that kind of rules them out as an option....akuwoodpanel comes in XL size so I could get that for the dining room.

You can get a bit of the pine and stain it with the product you plan to use and see if you like it. I'd go to your local lumberyard to see what they have before ordering on-line.

Look at Wayfair. They have 106 (not an exhaustive search) which doesn't quite get to 10' but you can put a seam. Also depends on your trim.

We did this in our basement. I'm glad we had a contractor, as there was quite a bit of cutting that needed to be done for ours. Even outlets were challenging (needed to get box extenders for those). We ordered ours from Wayfair and I liked what we got from there better than the samples we got from the companies. It was also half the price.

Your inspiration has black backing so if you go the total diy route you will need to paint your wall. We used SW black magic for our trim and that looks good with the black felt.
