Flooring Compliments for an existing light honed Travertine

I currently have a light colored honed travertine floor in my entryway and kitchen. My other rooms are carpet which I am looking to replace and I am hoping for suggestions on the type of flooring and color that would transition well with the travertine. I am gravitating toward either a dark color vinyl or wood faux tile. I attached a picture of the travertine along with a couple of samples I have picked up.

Also one of the rooms is a formal dining room and one of the walls has a dark colored built in. I am not sure if going with dark flooring could be to much. But my thought is I could put down a light colored rug.

Have you looked at engineered wood? Stained oak will give you the best chance at getting something warmer colored that will work with the Travertine and built-in.

What do your furnishing look like? Also warm wood?

Thank you for the comment. I haven't looked at engineered wood yet. Would you still go with a dark stain? There are 3 rooms in addition to the formal dining room that I am replacing the carpet.

Office - Brown walls with a large white desk and white built ins.

Play room - light colored walls, white toy storage, with a decorative ceiling (added a picture)

Living room - Light walls with a brown leather couch and brown table.

Look at Hickory flooring...engineered or hardwood. There are several finishes/stains that might fit all your needs. My daughter just ordered this one from Lumber Liquidators. As you can see, there a several different shades in Hickory. This stain is natural. She has antique Asian furniture; wicker chairs, reds and camel fabric pieces.... all work with this floor beautifully.

Agreed with the comments above. Looking into engineered wood would be a good option. Now, for the color, the second one from right to left on the picture with the cabinet, looks nice!

I do not like tile floors and for sure not wood look ones I love my LVP but it really depends on your life . We have huge dogshardwood would have beed trashed in a year. Are the cabinets staying in the color now ? I do not like hickory and for sure not with yravertine ans those cabinets I like dar floors but I would need to see your space . Monitors not really good at helping choose colors in a space .

I do not have plans to change the color of the built in cabinets. My only concern with going light colored floors is that there would not be contrast between the travertine and other flooring. Might look weird? Everything I has seen online that I have thought looked really good with travertine like mine has been light-dark to dark wood floors in the other spaces.

We have a dark color LVP upstairs in a hallway and it seems to transition decently with the travertine in the bathrooms. I attached a picture. I am not in love with it but feel it could be a "safe choice". I am just deathly afraid of picking the wrong color flooring for the downstairs as it is going to be a big project.

Did you pick a flooring? We have a travertine kitchen and have to replace our dark wood flooring (which I love) because of moisture in Florida is causing buckling. Thanks!
