What type/ size kitchen rugs make the most sense?

Please excuse my poor drawing skills. Currently have 2x3 in front of fridge and sink. Then we have 2x4 or 5 runners along the 6ft bar and in front of the stove… I’ve thought about one large area rug, but not sure if that makes sense in the kitchen. Ideally I would really like the rugs to be washable. However, I feel that the bigger the rug, the more complicated washing the rug might be. Any and all advice is very much appreciated.

Suggest only one runner at sink and a wipeable, non-slip, anti-fatigue style. (I’ll never go back to a rug.)

Yes, antifatigue non slip at the sink. Are you wanting to add them for aesthetic reasons, to hide the floor, or for some other purpose?

I only have a runner in front of the sink. No need for any more rugs in the kitchen. Mine is a hand-knotted wool runner, which is vacuumed regularly and is easily spot cleaned. Every few years I have all my hand-knotted wool rugs professionally cleaned.
