renovating small bathroom

We're renovating a small bathroom to include a tiled shower and floor. We’ve chosen fluted white tile for the shower. I need to choose the bathroom and shower floor tile. I am considering using a pebble shower floor tile but wonder if I should use the same as the bathroom floor. Also, thinking pebbles might be too much texture with the walls. I would love to add a pop of color.
This is the tile for walls and it will be placed vertically.

Below are photos of the current bathroom. Thanks for your help in advance!!

I think the shower floor is your chance to do something fun/interesting. a color you love, but don't want the whole room the color.

Choose something 2" or less for good drainage.

I would choose a large format tile for the bathroom floor in a light tone to help make the room appear larger. Is there natural light in the room? Are you able to add a solar tube?

My choice would be Light/white tile for a fresh timeless look, use color in your towels, decor for a change able color scheme.

Thanks for your quick reply. I like that idea. Just for clarity so do you mean choosing a solid color as opposed to a pattern for the shower floor?

I’ll have to look into solar tubes, not familiar with them. Likely not enough room. It’s fairly small there is no window, but there is a skylight. Unfortunately it’s not a sunny area.
    Thanks!!

I like the look of the fluted tile, but would it be harder to clean?

Fluted tile will be a haven for soap scum. Not a good shower material.

A fluted tile will not be a good choice for shower walls since soap scum and water will be trapped in the ridges and will need a brush to clean all the time. I like 12 x24 porceain tile on bathroom floors and shower walls the same tile only smaller on shower floors. It makes using the squeegee easy and keeps the major stuff in the bathroom simple . It allows for wall color change , accessory change with no hard work to rip out tile that is just really a bad choce for shower walls . Have fun with maybe wallpaper instead.

If it is a small bathroom will suggest that whatever tile you use on the wall you also use on the floor for a more cohesive look.

^ agreed, I tend to think the fewer materials used the better

We have a white shower with gray mosiac shower floor to match the large gray bathroom floor tiles. The shower threshold is white. The cohesive gray is nice for all the flooring. Doesn't have to be gray, just the idea of the same color flooring for shower and bath.

Posting photos. We are gutting the entire bathroom.
Thanks for all the great input. I will be touching the fluted tile tomorrow, so I will consider how easy it is to clean . We are replacing the current vanity with a semi custom that has a left sided sink. This will allow us to center the lighting and mirror over the sink.

If anyone has any other advice, they’d like to share I’m open to it ! Thanks
    😊

In addition, this is a guest bathroom so not used very often.
