It is National Quilting Day

Sharon always kept us reminded of this day and I just saw a notice so decided to bring it up.

I did some quilting on my last project yesterday and am down to the binding, which may or may not get done today, probably not! Both DH and I are battling colds and I am worn out from the coughing and what goes along with it.

I have an issue with this last quilt and need some advice on how to fix it. Because I was not too clearheaded when I sandwiched it, (my excuse), it didn’t get noticed till all the quilting was done but there is a large tuck just about mid back. There is no way on God’s green earth that I am going to frog at least half the quilt. So how can I salvage this boo boo. Suggestions, please. I do remember getting a quilt back from the quilter who apologized for the tuck on the back of that quilt. Something about the backing material. (That quilt is in Australia).

So right now, I have taken another Tylenol and hope to feel better soon, after a nap.

Theresa, I’m sorry you’re not feeling well again! Hope you are better soon.

Maybe you could hand stitch the tuck down to make it less noticeable. Is it a print fabric? That will help disguise it, too.

I did yard work with hubby all morning so I’m going to my room to play now. 😁

Oh Theresa, I am sorry you are not feeling great. Get some rest!

I like Donna's ideas for possible fixes. I finished my last quilt for Brent's place last night - AFTER unstitching about 2 square feet of stitches because of a HUGE buckle in the backing. UGH. It's not perfect, but I ironed and ironed it before I redid the quilting and that helped. I got the binding on it and it is waiting for the quilt labels to arrive.

Today I cleaned my sewing room and am awaiting the arrival of our grand DOG who is spending spring break with us. She is not well-trained so DH and I will work on some basic commands while her "parents" are away with our granddaughter! We will see.

After much thought and debate with myself, I am now in process of frogging the whole top. I did think I could do half but that just wasn't going to work. My quilting lines crisscrossed , there was no easy start stop point. And since Sue could do a big ripout, I can too. It may take awhile. Thank goodness for straight line quilting!!
