Help with Dining Room

Can someone please hell me with ideas for this wall? The credenza will be painted black and eventually a new wood mid century modern credenza after that. There is so much wall space and Idon’t know what to do. The only thing on my bucket list is to one day see the Northern Lights so I have toyed with the idea of a big painting or a triptych of the northern lights. I cannot envision how I would do it though. Open to any other ideas. I am also open to cool storage ideas as our kitchen is very small. TYIA!

IMO your starburst chandelier is enough of a reference to the Northern Lights. Anything more and it gets cheesy.

Select a large canvas for the wall.

Instead of black I'd paint your sideboard a GreenBlack color

Years ago my son wanted a picture of the Northern Lights in his room. We found one on art.com. It was available in numerous sizes and you also have a lot of options for framing. I don't think the one we have would look good with your wall color. I don't know if you were planning on painting or not. If you are in love with the NL idea, get your picture and be prepared to paint the room if it clashes. If you decide that won't work, art.com has thousands of other options and etsy is another popular place to find art.

I'd address the lack of storage in the house before I would worry about art in the dining room.

I would buy three of these cabinets side by side on the wall

Not overly fond of the wall color in your dining room. Just doesn't seem quite right and it competes for attention against the furnishings.

Lyn Neilson-i love those cabinets and I do not disagree about storage solutions-i should add though that the other thing lacking is counter space. That buffet table is heavily used for putting out food. do you possibly have any suggestions for storage on the walls that are not necessarily cabinets?

Design Fan-the measurements/spacing/layout of the room are awful. The light is centered in the room and the table is centered under the light. The table cannot be turned the other way. it would not fit unless we took out the cabinet. Then that wall doesnt line up/match where the lightvis because there is a bumpout to the left that goes to our hallway.

Norwood Architects-do you have any other suggestions? We choose that color off of a SW pallette because it helped tie in our 1959 teal and purple slate from our kitchen. would love another suggestion. I am not home to get another pickbof tge gloor but you can kind of see it in the picture if you look to the left. that is our hallway with same floor. not the greatest shot or representation of tge floor but that floor is why the choice ofcpaint. working with what we have

I'm always a fan of a gallery wall. That could be another way to add one picture of the northern lights without it being the main feature.

Another option. Art is a photo of the northern lights from space. Moved the credenza to align with table/chandelier, added a plant to fill the right corner. MCM ceramics for accessories.
