Yes. But only because they are SO similar. Cheviot is just slightly lighter and brighter and has a smidge more chroma.

Because they are so close, this combo is kind of a twist on the classic strategy of paint everything the same color just in different finishes. The trend term is color drench.

In certain lighting, they might look the same.

Just make sure you think they look pretty together you don't want it to look like the intention was color drenching but the match is off.

LRV has one job—and it’s not a very useful one when it comes to paint and color. All it tells you is how much light a color reflects. That’s it.

LRV has nothing to do with whiteness, and that’s an important distinction and this is a good example.

Because Cheviot has more Chroma - or could say it's more colorful so more of its yellow hue parent is discernible. And it's that extra yellowness that makes Cheviot more reflective and higher in LRV.

Bottom line, LRV is not useful; it doesn't describe what a color looks like in anyway shape or form and in this case it's super unhelpful.

What is helpful is LCh. Don't have to understand the jargon or the numbers (data values) to get just how similar Cheviot and Snowbound are.

L = Lightness (how light/dark a color looks)

C = Chroma (strong/weak how neutral or colorful a color looks)

h = Hue Angle (a color's hue family)
