What color Nightstands to add/Curtains?

So over the years we've added bits of furniture as we were establishing ourselves. We have a room with light grey walls, grey headboard but these brown dressers on each side of the room and a desk with a matching color. But I want to add night stands but I'm unsure what color to get as we have various colors in our room(light grey walls, light tan bed cover, brown dressers/desk and blue curtains). We definitely want to change out the curtains but not sure what color(also looking for black out curtains due to how sunny it gets in our room).

I need some ideas because I am lost. I'm not a huge fan of darker colors but any suggestions how to turn this room around.

Since you don’t like dark colors, keep the nightstands light (assume you are placing bed where dresser is to allow for two or moving the desk). You mentioned wanting curtains and blackouts? There are curtains that are full block outs and keep the blinds for privacy if needed. Suggest a wider black rod and be sure curtains touch the floor snd suggest beige or a light grey.

It’s important to pull a room together and bedding has a huge impact in tieing it all together. Imagine your headboard with this combo

Replacing the mirror will do wonders.

Post a picture of the bed wall. I would do some type of valance for the windows with the bed up against the window and a nightstand in front of the window panels just don't work. I would get neater looking bedding. Get the size up from your bed size so it hangs more smoothly. Target has some great prices.

This one come in lots of colors. Natural may work best for you. $46 for queen size. target.com

I'd like for you to consider a slightly different solution for your bedroom. The use of double dressers, nightstands and chest of drawers is often no longer used in bedrooms. Painted bachelor chests are often now used on either side of the bed for clothing storage.

Since the wood finish on the nightstand you're considering seems different from the wood furniture in the room, I would opt for the charcoal/black one. For the window, I suggest a roman shade instead of curtains.

Note:

I show roman shades because judging from your picture you don't have room for nice not skimpy curtains.

Gray and TAN are generally not good friends. Nor do two dressers , low boy and high boy, do well in small rooms.

The highboy left of the bed should go elsewhere, or perhaps the desk should go.

A mirror match to a dresser is not youthful, and is quite 1970.

You have d.r.e.a.r.y, and exactly the opposite of what you want.

Draw and measure the room, all the walls , windows, closet door, bath door etc show pictures from all angles of the room, do this is bright daylight and raise the blinds.

I would go cozy and warmer with a color palette of earthy tones, featuring beige/gold/terracotta curtains and dark furniture accents. Drape panels kiss the floor and go as high as possible.

Pull the bed away from the wall a few inches so the curtains behind the headboard can hang properly.
