Waht is the possible reason for the wood ? IMO ceilings are a place to do lighting and maybe even a different color but slapping wood onto the ceiling with no real connectio to that same treatment somewhere else makes no sense . I love a n entry to be abit dramatic so how about a nice wallpaper on the ceiling and a fabulous llight fixture .I have used this in an entry for a client with matching sconces on a wall with french doors to the media room off the entry . It is called Autumn from Eurofase .It is awesome and really lights the space .You have lots of decor in thta hall maybe choose the ceiling color form one of the art pieces no need for much other than the lighting
