Thick trunk

Thanks Bill, your link mentions this particular tree. Didn't notice until now, trunk pic has a face on it! I do remember seeing swaths of blue gum plantings in central California area in the 80s-90s --very eye-catching bark and leaves.

From what I understand, eucalyptus like it a little on the warmer side, more so than their cousin the crepe myrtle.

Not many tree types in the Neiborhood of 150 yo have a diameter of 10 ft.

So... what makes a giant tree giant enough for the list? I love these giant tree posts, and sometimes wonder about local trees.

bees, there's a group on facebook that features big trees from alot of areas, not just N America. That's where I'm getting the info/pics on most of these big-tree posts.
