Need help with kitchen cabinet paint color

Hi, going to paint cherry cabinets. Subway tile and backsplash are greys, counter white and grey, floor is brown shaded tile throughout dining kitchen and foyer.

White dove was suggested, but I am wondering if it is too white. We have a pool table in open area to living room with blue cloth, so I don't think a color will work.

You could easily spend that 10K and have it go further than just a paint job. New less yellow lighting, and a new backsplash without the dated racing stripe, and the place would seem a lot fresher.

Sandra more info is needed. A photo farther back with your floors? Have you ordered a large sample of white dove to see in the space?

Those aren't cherry. They are a cheap dyed and toned softwood. Unless you have a truly expert professional tackling this, they will bleed through and contaminate your coating.

The best way to know whether white dove will look good is to buy a sample pot and paint a large area of cabinet with it. Your cabinets will have to be sanded, primed, and painted anyway. White dove has always looked beige-y to me.

While you are at it, consider a few alternatives. Start with your wall color and go a few shades lighter, darker, blue-er and see what appeals to you.

given the very traditional door style I might choose a pale yellow. Cant tell your overall style of decor. A wider view of the space including floor might help.

Yellow can lean warmer [buttery] or cooler [lemony]....I think its nice w traditional styles. Would be a change..... seems to be your goal.

Please don’t test paints on the cabinet itself. You can buy samples through Samplize or buy a test jar to paint on foam core. It’s important to see the samples at different angles (with the counters, with the floors, on different elevations, etc).

I would maybe just replace the backsplash. The door profile is dated and I don't think painting will pay off the way you think it will. If as McDonald Enterprises says the doors won't take paint well you will have spent a lot of money for a result that is worse than what you have. Save your money for a complete remodel. I've seen worse backsplashes also, so if you want to save up, don't bother with it either. It looks like the tilework was very well done, even if it is dated. These days things get dated very quickly. If there are things you don't like about the layout, a complete remodel is going to be the only way to fix those things.
