last month

Just saw Tide Clean and Gentle powder is back on Walmarts site! Anyone try it? I’m sure the formula has changed….Tide will be Tide.

Yes, porkchop_mxk3, I don't care for the brighteners at all and was never a Tide fan. I use 365 by Whole Foods powder, buying on Amazon. I don't have very dirty laundry, so I can't speak to that but it works for my clothes. I use washing soda due to hard water, also, and pretreat stains. Here are those ingredients: Ingredients: Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Carbonate Peroxide, Laureth-7†, Sodium Metasilicate, Protease Enzyme Blend†, Amylase Enzyme Blend†, Mannanase Enzyme Blend†, Pectate Lyase Enzyme Blend†, Lipase Enzyme Blend†.

At the moment on Amazon, $14.72/80oz, 80 loads. If you buy 4 qualifying items, 10% off. It's WF/Amazon pantry stuff for the most part and I've added cheap dried beans and small things for my little bargain. Note that this powder doesn't suds up

I bought it at WalMart. I’ve only used it on a load of towels. It worked well. I also noticed it had optical hrightener now.

Wow! P$G listened to their customers! Just wishing it had lipase and TAED.

Tide Clean & Gentle powder I bought a few years ago had optical brightener in it. The liquid version does not.

I've washed 3 loads in the new unscented Tide powder. I had good results. Stains and odors were removed. Very pleased about that and no fragrance is a big plus. Disappointed to see it does have optical brighteners included in the list of this and that.

I also use the 365 unscented powder, which once I found the proper dose for my laundry, I am pleased with--heads up: the dosage for our water conditions (softish) and washing machine size, full fill top load, is half a cup of powder for a soak/pre-wash that we do on 90% of wash cycles, and quarter cup for main wash with warm or hot water (I don't really recommend cold washes with this detergent, but I know that some people only wash in cold water, so ymmv). I found out the hard way that the package dosing instructions did not yield positive laundry results over here. FL washers are going to need less detergent than my washer does.

Overall, I'm glad to have this unscented powder detergent back as an option. It was a sad day when we no longer had this detergent on the store shelves, just wish it had no optical brighteners. In it's absence, I gave 365 a try and it has been an acceptable option, although it is no longer available in a Whole Foods store around here.

I tried the 365 powder, it was terrible -- there was visible dirt left on my clothes.
