I had porch posts like yours (well, not pencil-thin like these) on my last house and they most definitely were holding up my porch roof! I had to have mine replaced too, and I went with new 6”x6” cedar posts.

Mostly likely they are load bearing.

Just wrap them with something a bit bulkier. Leave the thin post inside

They are structural.
