Need advice on primary bathroom flooring.

We are planning on renovating our primary bathroom. The shower was recently updated before we bought the house. We are keeping the tile. We are keeping the shower door. We plan on gutting the rest of the room, we will install a free-standing tub, new vanity, lighting, etc We need advice on the flooring. What color/style floor would coordinate with the shower? Thank you for your help!

^ ^ ^ or a larger format version of what is on the shower floor. Did the previous owners leave any extra pieces that you could take to a tile store to look for a match?

The shower is super busy, but having a lot more of it would tune down that busyness. Otherwise, rip it out too.

i would go with a solid color to match the shower. you can add pizzazz with other accessories.

do you want the floor to be a focal point? if yes, then a larger hex tile to match shower floor would be beautiful.

if not, then something plain. pull color out of wall or shower floor and go with that.

remember, you are adding a free standing tub, new vanity, fixtures, towels, rugs etc... everything does not have to a 'statement'. the eye needs to rest somewhere....

what feeling do u want in the bathroom: WOW, SPA-LIKE, COTTAGE, FRENCH, VINTAGE.... all needs to be considered.

i do agree with McDonald Ent. if you don't love the shower stall, rip out . no sense spending thousands of dollars on a new bathroom to comprise on a shower stall just b/c its new....put in what u love. you won't be re-doing anytime soon....

I see no space for a FS tub and really if going to all the work to redo the rest of the space do the shower too it is now driving every choice you make and if you love then keep but if trying to save money it is making all other choices difficult I say rip it out. Those tiles on the wall are busy the seat is not right and the floor busy again. I like a simple 12 x24 porcelain tile in a color that works with the main bedroom decor I use that tile for the bathroom floors and shower walls a smaller one same color for shower floor matching grout and you have a nice simple palette that allows you to change wall color, accessories when ever you want a change .BUt if the plan is to put the FS tub where that one is you do not have room for it. You need a min of 12" all around to be able to clean and even then often you almost have to stand on your head in the tub to clean behind . Do you use a tub ? This is the time to decide what you need for a bathoom . If you need a tub my suggestion would be a do a nice tub shower combo with a 66" x 32 tub with nice shower walls and glass walls where possible .

I have a similar bathroom.The floor is the same as the shower but unpolished.

I would find out what they used for the walls if possible.

Finished bathroom. Decided on large format gray tiles, heated floor, shiplap on walls and ceiling, new vanity, and a free-standing bathtub as planned. I am happy with how it turned out. Thank you for all of your advice!
