You don't want to match your inspo.

That door is MCM and doesn't really complement the style of your home. You should be considering a Craftsman style door for the door. Here are a variety of door styles.

Here are some other homes in the area. I didn't realize this was such a popular style in SF.

So far none of these color schemes do much for the architecture except perhaps this moss green selection in the upper RH corner & the plain white one at the bottom LH corner.

The gray and white house you posted is pretty nice, though IMO the gray might be too cool. A greige paint might work better.

I'm still trying to figure out if the house should be light or dark. Still researching.

I also think the concept of having a garage door that is unique in color is worth considering.

I know this is not what you were expecting, but I wanted to see what happens when the house is painted a dark color.

I would stay far away from any color gray. Its not for your house. Your house has a brown roof, and you need to choose colors that agree with the roof color.

These houses are so interesting! I’ve never seen this style before - very cool. You mentioned that your garage door will be a “warm gray.” Are you planning to paint it or can you post a picture of the color so that the designers might be able to more accurately determine what colors go with it. My first thought was to paint the house the garage door color because that is generally what is suggested on this forum, in order to make it stand out less. But, as last posted, your roof appears to be brown, so gray might not be your color. The garage is so front and center that you really need to plan around it somewhat, in my opinion. Can’t wait to see what you choose. Congratulations on your first house!

Hi Will Post pics of the garage door in a moment. It is a dark warm charcoal grey color.

I don't know if you want neutrals but DE has some nice grayed colors.

English Scone seems like a nice pretty blush color. Great with charcoal.

You know you can upload a photo of your house to DE online and "paint" it using their colors.

Goes great with your charcoal garage door.

I think the darker tone homes have some merit for consideration.

I'd do a warm cream, maybe with the faintest hint of peach.

Who cares what other people are doing. I would go for the white from the picture Beverly posted. It’s so pretty!! Pick a nice colorful paint for the garage door, to make it pop.

That style of house looks so pretty in grey or white. I would go for white. You can add nice contrast with the landscaping. Plant a tree that arches over your driveway, pretty greenery and hedges there, maybe a pop of color with a flowering hedge, brown mulch, etc. It would look so striking.

I also find that your choice of front door doesn't suit the style of your house. Here's a visual of my suggestions...

When we lived in a similar house (in the Outer Sunset) it was a medium grey with white trim. It looked quite nice. IIRC, the garage door was the same color as the body of the house; the front door was not visible from the street.

Painting it light grey blends in with the sidewalk. Need more contrast.

The color the house is now, is very nice, and goes very well with your roofing. I see many combinations above that look very nice, but, none of those houses have your brown roof. Dont pick something that looks good on someone elses house. Pick what goes well with your own, and the current color is perfect already.

Warm off-white will work good.

The pure white with pale gray trim for the windows given by Beverly is gorgeous...not sure about the orange garage. The brightness brings out the Mediterranean sunshine look. I agree with your contractor so white garage door.

Your windows are a much more attractive feature than a square garage door, and highlighting the windows brings the eye upwards towards your attractive roofline. For these reasons you should paint the body of the house the same as the garage door. It will also make your home appear wider.

Next consider whether to paint the trim a darker grey to contrast or a lighter color to contrast. I vote a darker color.

Adding plants where there are rocks on either side of your driveway will make a huge difference in curb appeal. I think the green against your grey home will look beautiful. Think of them as a second "trim" color of sorts and let that inform the trim color you use on your home.

I absolutely hate the door you have selected. (Strong opinion, I know.) There is nothing wrong with the door itself. It just does not look right with your house. Do you want a door with glass in it or would you consider a solid door?
