I would NOT paint the coffers to match the floors--too dark. And staining would be a huge effort--you would need to strip all the paint off, and even then you might find the wood is not conducive to stain--it's probably paint grade wood.

Do you need the fan? We have fans in rooms where we want air circulation, but if you don't need that, replace it with a semi-flush ceiling fixture.

I don't think the room needs any more trim work.

As to the coffee/beverage bar, same question--do you need one? If not, it's a waste of money.

Regarding curtains, etc., you need to identify the look you want before anyone can give you advice on furnishings. Start an ideabook on Houzz with living/family rooms that you like, and post examples here.

Little design lesson. Start with art, then look for rug and accessories that echo the art. Keep upholstered pieces neutral, wall color neutral (warm white like White Dove) gives you a neutral background for bringing in color and texture. I wouldn't go velvet on the curtains but a nubby fabric that matches the wall.

Alternatively, there are tv lift cabinets you can buy, or you could build a cabinet, or you can have an existing cabinet customized with the lift mechanism. They sell the lift mechanism on Amazon.

You could consider putting the cabinet in front of one of the windows, next to the fireplace. I think your fireplace is flanked by two windows. Although I can only see one in your pic. As it is, the tv over the fireplace is too high. That can be remedied by using a mantel mount:

Here is a rough idea for furniture and a furniture layout. Not your exact room setup in terms of window placement, etc., but hopefully you can get the general idea. I would put a sofa table directly behind the sofa to back it/anchor it. These chairs are supposed to be swivel chairs.

If you're looking to upgrade to a larger TV screen there's only one wall that can accommodate that size.
