I think Matte Black, Oil-Rubbed Bronze / Dark Bronze are better. Ordinary iron railings will do.

I think you need to widen the steps to make the all the same width.

Those are dangerous as they exist. I would redo them so they are all the way across then put in a railing just as lisedv drew for you.

If the stairs needs to stay as is, perhaps consider adding a rod iron railing down the right side on the first two steps. This would be an idea (photo), except railing would be straight down..

YEs please redo those stairs before someone is injured then a nice simple wrought iron railing is all you need on both sides
