I wouldn't use Newport Brass. I used some in my previous house. Search on the forums for old posts.

In the new house I used Brizo. We've been in the house 3 years and no issues with the plumbing fixtures.

I've used California faucets, Sigma and Rohl. All three are quality brands, and all offer their products in LOTS of finishes. I'm a fan of more traditional style bath faucets, and Brizo is just too modern for me.

Check the warranty on the finish you select. The brass will only stay untarnished provided it's lacquered. However, if you are on a private well, forget it. You'll never keep the brass finish.

If you can find actual GOLD PLATED FAUCETS, they will not tarnish.

You can get a PVD finish on brass and nickel, which will probably delay the patina, but if you want something that will stay looking new forever, get chrome or stainless steel. Even lacquered brass can tarnish if the finish gets chipped. We had lacquered brass in the 90s, and eventually they started to change. Unlacquered brass will patina. Is PVD coated brass preferable over lacquered brass?

You know, Meg, I'm not certain about that. I'm not a fan of lacquered brass since it reminds me of the shiny brass of the 90s.
