How to hang centre rod bracket w/ only 4cm between ceiling and trim.

I ordered drapes and a curtain rod from Pottery Barn for my 96” wide window and now that they have arrived I have realized that there is not enough space between the ceiling and window trim to fit the centre bracket. My ceilings are just under 8’ high, so too low for ceiling mounted brackets Should I cut a small opening in trim to accommodate a centre bracket? Any other ideas?

Drapery rod hung from the ceiling.

no, don't cut any trim.

either mount the rod on the ceiling as shown above, or find a different bracket or something to support the rod in the center, like a hook.

My first thought was to cut the bracket to fit. Second thought is to mount one of the round brackets from the ceiling in the centre and use the open ended one on the wall since it looks like they will not show anyways. Last choice is to return them and get another style that is better suited for your window. Definately something ceiling mounted.

Ceiling or just mount it to the casing.

You don't have to "notch" the casing. You can put spacers behind the bracket so that it will hand level.
