I'm trying coir potting mix this year, when I've previously primarily used MiracleGro potting mix. I'm doing this to avoid peat which is not a sustainable product. Coir does seem to behave very differently. It is heavier when dry than peat based mix and seems more dense. It seems to dry out more slowly. Some plants seem to do okay, but most seem to grow more slowly. What has been your experience?
