Consider this a rhetorical vent, as I doubt anyone can help if my surfing yielded zilch.

It's impossible for me to find good value normal toothpicks and matches anymore. I know there's Target toothpicks, but it's not so nearby, and anyway out of stock. Anything that used to be taken for granted, is often out of stock here. The identical pink-box-toothpicks on Ebay are $9 compared to Target's $3. For that matter, other products also are junkified, such as lunchbags, and the inner-plastic liners of some off-brand cracker boxes. Crackerbox liners can be translucent chemical plastic. And paper-bags (even from pharmacy!) have chemicals. The flimsy brown lunch bags have both chemicals and holes. I'm sick of it.

Diamond matches and toothpicks have become junkified. Some off-brand matches even emit toxic fumes when struck. Bamboo toothpicks cause splinters, as do many skewers and wood pop sticks.

If the glut of imports had never been enabled decades ago, many of us would be better off, because not everyone is located with easy access to good-value products. I'm even trembling over my very-simple lightweight mop-head that i bought at a 99-cent store about 10 years ago.

...because you can't find such stuff anymore, and it may soon wear out at the threading. My spare-heads are from ShopRite, but they're horrible cuz the threads are thick/overstuffed, and you can't trim them to be sparser & thereby fit into the yellow O'Cedar wringer. I.E. if you try trimming the ShopRite heads, then the other end of each thread pulls out too. Ridiculous.
