What's odd about it? New growth versus older growth on a very young plant. It will all even out in time.

I'm not seeing what is odd about the growth. The newer leaves are lighter in color, which is normal for many plants. The contrast on your plant is a bit more than mine; that could be due to overcast skies during the flush of growth, a slight nutrient deficiency or just the result of quick growth that hasn't hardened off yet. It appears that the 2-3 longer stems showing in the top photo were cut back to half, and the stems branched nicely to produce a bushier plant. That is proper pruning.

Here is what it looks like now. This is why i think it's not right. It is way outgrowing the rest of the plant and does not look the plant at all.

I agree that the growth on the right is different. That wasn't so clear in your first pictures. My guess is that you have an opportunistic second shrub growing there. If the Myrtle is fairly newly purchased the interloper might have come in the pot. I'm thinking perhaps a Salix, a common self shower in nursery pots. If you do some careful excavation I think you'll find there are two separate trunks.

If it is a Salix, cutting it off will only remove it temporarily. It'll probably shoot from the roots. So either keep cutting until it gives up the effort or remove the roots.
