New Kitchen Cabinet Pocket Door Problems- Professionals PLEASE ADVISE

Would really appreciate some help and advice from anyone who installs pocket doors in kitchens. We recently renovated our kitchen. We had pocket doors installed for our microwave and toaster oven. IMO, they have never open and closed easily or properly.

You have to pull very hard to get them to open or close. You have to pull hard from the center of cabinet doors to get them to almost click or lock. But even once you feel them click that is only the bottom. You then have to take your hand and then grab the top of the cabinet doors to lock the top. I have enclosed a couple videos.

I can't get my contractor to even answer me on the issues on these doors. If you know what's going on with them, please let me know. Surely, it shouldn't take this much force to open and close cabinet pocket doors?

Sorry they should not have been used but who made the cabinets? That is who you speak to for answers. What contractor are you asking? It might be a imple hinge adjustment which is often the case after cabinet install that usually is the isse when the doors do not hang straight.

They say they have adjusted them as much as they can. It's not just that they don't hang straight. It's that you have to pull so hard from 2 different places to get them into place. It's hard to open or close them

Some element is out of alignment. Either the doors are not square, the box is not square, the doors have warped, the hardware is not mounted level and aligned......something is off.

If the hings adjustment does not work then the cabinets are not square and that is on your install contractor who it sounds like is not interested in making it right so not sure what the answer is but start with a level and check for square at least then you will know what is wrong . I dislike applaince garage type storage IMO more trouble than it is worth but if you want it it needs to function , right now it does not and at least checking for square will give you the answer but my guess is the contractor will not care and are you willing to have this ripped out and redone ?

You can id the mechanisms and get the installation instructions. Likely online. Go over the instruction and use them to remove one of the doors. Check the components to make sure they move smoothly. Reassembly per the installation instructions. The installation instructions may have adjustment procedures. Try those first.
