A linear fixture would have been best in my opinion, however, the canopy would exceed the size of your framework

The fixture needs to be above the center of the table. Figure it out from that. Where will the table be? In the center of the room or off closer to the windows?

There is a lot of everything going on in the room. As for a chandelier, would you show a photo of your dining room furniture? Do you have a rug?

And, what's going on in the rest of the downstairs? Assuming this is a center entrance colonial, you would want the living room and front hall to relate to the new dining room.

Agree that it depends where the table is situated - we have 2 lanterns hung over our long table, not hard to do if it makes placement easier
