Adding to our TV antena from one room to another?

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask this......but.....all our TVs are connected to an Antenna on the roof. We have connections for it in several rooms, but not the kitchen. We have a TV on our table that just has one of those flat wall things connected to the TV for reception....which is hit and miss. We have a connection to the outside antenna in the wall of an adjacent room. My husband....whose very good with science, but not stuff like this, insists that all he has to do is figure out the location of the connection in the next room, to where he would make a new opening in the kitchen and add another whatchamacallit to the stuff in the the other room's antenna connection. Are you still with me? ;) Is this as "simple" as he's making it sound? Or should I insist on a professional coming out and doing it? Thanks!!

Sounds like he is heading in the right direction - but... where is the splitter located that connects the antenna to all the other, working rooms? And how many rooms are connected to it?

Hi dennisgli. The splitter is up in the attack, at the far end of the house (from the kitchen). It goes from there to 4 and maybe 5 other rooms. (Not sure about the 5th room because there's too much furniture to look behind). But the room that he wants to add the connection to, is not using the antenna and probably won't any time soon. Also, in one of the bedrooms there are 2 possible connections, but only one is used.

The correct way to do this would be to run a new cable from splitter in the attic to the new location in the kitchen. Then you connect it to an unused connection on the splitter - or if there are no unused connections available, unplug one of the unused cables and connect it there.

Thanks! I'll mention this to my hubby. Although in this heat, I'm not sure I want him in the attic! We might wait for cooler weather.........if it ever happens again. Thanks for your help! I might get back to you with more questions in the near future!
