What about when it says that the vinyl window comes in different standard colors and they have their color options online? Is that different then when they say "your window can come in a color painted color?"

Standard colors typically are white, bronze and a clay and not painted but that can change brand to brand as well. Lower grade brands may be painted.

Haven't kicked the tires on the Hawthorne product, but I am pretty familiar with the Okna casement. It's a very solid product and generally regardeded as one of the top 3 products in vinyl.

With regards to color, will there be any exterior cladding or trim work? Generally speaking, we match the color to the coil stock to be used so that we get a seamless color between the coil and the window. Ultimately you can paint the window, factory applied, any color you want from Okna. That said, we match to the coil and we have not had ANY issues with paint in nearly 20 years. It appears to be a lifetime type finish.

Painted vinyl windows is fairly common and I would say proven reliable. I would never recommend them being painted in the field.Typically companies have their own standard colors but some may iffer custom colors. Since it is paint it could be scratched. I do not think painting a vinyl window

defeats the purpose , it just gives one more options . Never heard of Hawthorn Alliance, Okna is a pretty well known brand and a performance leader.

I have seen both windows and the Okna is a much better product in terms of quality.

agree with the others, this is apples and oranges. Okna is a great window, your other choice is builder grade and engineered for about 10 years of service life IMO.

Agree on the paint also. Factory paint on vinyl has been proven durable and really isn't a legit concern.
