Urgent Advice Requested

Bought this OLOG a week ago from good nursery. Watered daily . Planted properly into pot four days later, watering daily except for yesterday , a sunny day in the low eighties..

Awoke today to this sad sight. Watered deeply this morning ( it seemed) and soil is very lightly damp this early evening . I snipped off the most sagging. Should I remove all the blooms leaving just the small buds? Hope not !!! … but will if its best. Temps here are expected to be in hight 70’s next week. Now pic. TIA!

Update on this beautiful, lady.

Here she is in mid December., growing and blooming her head off. She’ll stay in the pot unless she complains of feeling cramped. She’s beautiful there, plus it raises her up , easier to see. She’ll be cut back in , probably, February.

I think the plant just got stressed from too much sun. Might want to put it in a larger part in less sun and let it grow out a bit.

Hi,

It can recover from this wilting position.

When first planted, roots may be distubed which makes it look wilted in 1-2 days esp. if out in sun. . Set it in part shade/sun, don’t over water. Water when top inch if soil is dry. It needs TLC to recover from transplant. Dont fertilize-can burn roots. Just water when slight dry at top of soil.

In a few days should recover. Let grow in part shade/sun for a couple weeks to harden off & adjust to new pot then move gradually into full sun. BEST WISHES!

Martin, I have three OLOG in a hotter zone than yours (it’s 10a now, I just haven’t updated my profile). It’s a champion rose for me - gets 6 hrs of full sun. I’ve had it for 3 yrs and it’s never without a bloom from April through November. You will love yours.

This is the third time I've heard of this rose and she gets nothing but the highest of praises. How is her fragrance and does it waft well? This is another one I'm seriously considering getting even though I have no business buying any more roses

I’d rate the fragrance as medium. As for wafting, unsure as the Salvia (fabulous, too) is very strong and I’ve not cut any blooms for inside yet.

Great update! I've always had a soft spot for OLOG ever since I started growing her. Mine does not grow all that vigorously, and I've never considered her fragrant, but there is something about those silvery pink blooms that makes my heart sing :-D

And I love the fact that you have a St. Francis statue next to her!
