There's a big one in an empty Cumberland city lot that's owned by my sister-in-law's mother. It's near the floodplain of Will's creek, so plenty of water. They used to plant a big vegetable garden in that lot (not under the walnut).

What a tree!

I have a largish black walnut in my yard, and it drops tons of nuts. I often walk the yard with a chuck-it (tennis ball launcher) and throw them way back in the woods before I mow. One year I missed one, and the mower launched it for me - putting a tennis ball sized hole in the siding high up on the second story of the house 😳

That is spectacular. We had three in our yard when I was a child, but their trunks were straight and tall before they branched. I would have loved to have one like this one just so I couldsit in those lower branches.
