So I screwed this up. I accidently removed polymetric sand from 'some' pavers. Do I have to remove the rest before replacing, or just where it was removed?

I was pressure washing the house, and "zoning out" , and "cleaned" part of the patio, removing polymetric sand from in between some of the pavers (about 1/4 or the overall patio area).
from what I'm reading, and let me know if I'm wrong, which is why I'm here, you're not really supposed to "top it off" and need to remove 1-1/4 inch of sand.

I'm fine with all that on where I removed the existing sand, but what I don't know if I need to now remove ALL the sand and replace ALL of it or just stick to the area where I removed some sand.
