Measure around your bed as if you laid down a rug like Lyn showed. You can also use painters tape on wood floors without damaging them. Then start shopping. You can do any style rug you want since the room is currently neutral.

A gorgeous rug is a great way to start designing a bedroom. But know what size you need and what you’re willing to spend. Polypropylene rugs will be a whole lot less than hand-knotted wool ones.

A rug is an investment you can take to every house and can be moved around your current house to “change up” the rooms.

Begin my placing the bed in the right location. You can have the nightstand under one window and balance it with a mirror artwork over the other nightstand.

What is your budget/how much are you wanting to add/replace? If you could also be more specific style vs just being cozy, you will get more helpful ideas. Quick fixes: rug, bedding, lower hem on curtains, accessories and take a look on Houzz, Pinterest, and Instagram for inspiration. Be sure to be descriptive when searching, ie: style + cozy + color + master bedroom. Just as an example, I searched:

Save all the pictures you are drawn to and you’ll soon have a good base. If adding a rug, start there, layer bedding, and accessorize slowly. I find HomeSense/Marshalls is a great place for all kinds of accessories and advise taking your time to find what you love. Enjoy your new home!

Agree w others. Rug first, bedding second…furniture after that. You may wish to consult w a local window treatment company to figure out blackout vs not/shades vs drapes (or both). That can take a big chunk of the budget and may be critical to a good nights sleep.

Great advice already on adding texture - another idea would be to add bamboo shades to the windows and change out the curtains so they meet the floor will help, linen panels from Ikea are very cost effective

A few simple changes can perk up the room. I would also suggest moving the drapery rod higher and getting draperies that extend all the way to the floor. You can play around with rug on rugsdirect.com and see what you like.
