Just noticed there looks like a similar sprawled catalpa at the far background left. It's not unusual if you see one catalpa, you'll see another or more nearby.

I love Catalpas, between the flowers and smell, they can not be beat. Several years ago we drove from Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Madison, Indiana along the Ohio. Between the Catalpas and Roses it was a very pleasant journey.

It’s a North American stalwart. I always admire it, but could never bring myself around to planting one. I’m not sure what to make of that. This was likely a mistake since it was my mothers favorite tree. Now I have to plant a Catalpa. Damn the bad luck!

I grew up with a sizable one on the opposite side of the alley.

Probably the only thing I heard about them from my folks was negative.

They didn't like the abundant production of 'Beans' that collected on the ground and in the alley. So, I never really contemplated planting one.

It was a big one but not as large as the one posted above.

L Clark : It would depend on where you lived in Wyoming, Per Wikipedia, " its range has widely expanded east of the Rocky Mountains ". I know it grows in northern Indiana as there are many in that area. It is also plentiful in the Raleigh Area.
