I would consider adding upper cabinets, but I hate chopped off cabs. How high are your ceilings? Are you changing the wall color?

Are current counters granite? If you want to keep the floors, I would go with a light counter with some warm toned veining.
Having the tile professionally cleaned would help you decide on colors if you intend to keep it as it might brighten up.

the ceilings are 9’6 and the house was just painted alabaster to start fresh .

its an open floor plan to dining and living area. The window ahown is to a covered porch so the room is not too bright during the day

The counters are corian, and the tile floors going to be replaced also

If budget allows, real wood floors so much better than LVP both for style and resale. Elevates the whole house. In fact more important than new countertops as they can wait another year or so. Just make sure pick a “hard” wood. See Beverly’s last picture.Then decide countertops, not black as too dark. New kitchen hardware would also help but I am not sure what the replacement should be.

The wood floor looks very nice in the above photo. When I looked at your photo my first thought was that it would be good to get different flooring if that's an option. Opinions seem to vary widely regarding LVP. I wouldn't rule it out because someone else thinks it doesn't have enough snob-appeal. Impact on resale depends on what's typical in your area and the individual buyer. There are some pet owners who would never choose wood.

I'm definitely going to remove the cabinets to make room for the hood. Question, if I'm getting new appliances should I match the hood?

I would either get a wood hood that matches the cabinets or a stainless hood if you are getting stainless appliances. I think I would prefer the latter

I did the black hood to balance the black appliances. if you're replacing the appliances, are you thinking of buying stainless?

Yes, the appliances will be stainless. I also had the stone floor cleaned.

I would go for a stainless steel chimney vent if you're replacing your appiances for stainless.

Just make sure pick a “hard” wood. See Beverly’s last picture. I don't believe those are hardwood floors, as an image repeat is visible. Maybe a laminate (a disaster in a kitchen if there is a plumbing or dishwasher leak)?
