Post photo of your house please.

Please post a picture of your house the way it is now. I wouldnt like any of the looks above, although, the last one, all a light creamish color, I could probably live with. The first one has way to many colors, and the second one is way too dark and reminds me of a big scary house left abandoned out in the woods.

Neither of those 'afters' is an improvement on the 'before.'

over the years, when I have purchased a new home I have repainted the exterior of the home the opposite of how I found it. It says, 'a different family lives here now'.

I like the vibe of the dark one, but it eats up your beautiful stair railing and the boxed/deck area above. So I think lighter is the way to go. Not sold on the particular lighter color there, but computer simulators are just a rough guideline. Good luck, gorgeous home!

The top picture is the current paint color scheme I'm trying to update. It's a large facade, so I'm trying to make it more modern. Having a hard time deciding

Thank you. Should I just leave it the same colors and not change it? There are no other "off white" or light color houses on our street. There's a dark urbane Bronze house, but most are earthery taupes and greens and greiges. I found the colors that are existing, looks like it's Sherwin Williams Anonymous, with Intellectual Gray Trim. The front door is Tricorn Black.

Should I just keep it the way it is? I want to refresh, but totally confused!

Will the windows stay the current color or are you planning on painting them? (fwiw I am always a bit leery with board and batten makeovers bc I feel like they often change the windows beyond paint)

If the windows are staying light - then I would go light on the facade (all one color) but my preference would be to reduce the overall busyness a bit

The windows themselves are a beigey color I cannot change. I don't plan to replace all of the windows, so that has to stay. I am not a fan, but I thouhgt I could paint the window trim and everything else and the windows themselves might not be as noticeable. Yes, I saw that with the board and batten, they made the windows themselves black :( The inside of the trim, whatever color I paint the trim, will have a thin line of beig because that's wha the actual window casing is....

@Zephyrhills House Painters- thank you! I really love that color scheme a lot, and would totally go in our neighbourhood. What are those colors? And would it be an issue if the window casing themselves are beige?

The beige window casigns actually don't match the paint the original builder chose, but you don't notice this at all, since it's a thin line and the house is so big. BUT, if I painted the window trim black would that stick out more? It could just look subtle around the windows, but I don't know. I hate the window casing color, but nothing I can do about it.

You’ve got a good eye. The siding color in the rendering is closest to Sherwin Williams Cardboard (SW 6124), which gives that warm, earthy brown tone. Pairing it with Tricorn Black on the trim and railings creates a modern contrast that still feels timeless. Plus, you’ll get to tell people you sold a “Cardboard house” for a huge profit one day!

On your beige window casings, they really don’t stand out much now since the lines are so thin. If you go with black trim, the windows will pop more, but it could also draw some attention to the casing color. Painting them is possible with the right prep and specialty paint, but unless it really bothers you, I’d let the new siding and trim do the heavy lifting. Most people will notice the fresh, bold look of the main colors long before they ever see that tiny line.
