New Construction Exterior

We are in the tail end of our architectural plans. I love the inside, but I’m looking for some creative ideas on the exterior. Any suggestions on how to make the front of the house “pop” a little more? I’m looking for it to be a little different and more interesting, but can’t think of any suggestions to give the architect. I’m getting design fatigue. TIA!!
(Also posting the back which I like just to give the whole picture).

I’m not an architect or a designer but if you hadn’t shown me these images together I would have assumed different houses. To me the front and back don’t seem to be cohesive.

sounds to me like you are happy with the gable truss rafts on the back.

extend the roof line and add them to the front.

I would paint the black posts in that porch/balconey area a color closer to the garage color to match the wood you have on the back deck area. Like @WestCoast Hopeful noted the front and the back look like two different houses.

Those thinking their house needs to "pop", are usually just reacting to poor design.

The back of this house looks like it has suffered a series of additions, each one tacking on another box.

The front has potential, but needs refinement, not pop.

Your architect is (should be) the one designing.

It’s hard to get a true sense of the house, but having it pop will be difficult given its somber design in the middle especially and front door visually lost. Were there any other designs suggested as I think it‘s a major area to reconsider, as well as lightening it up (in the back of house as well).

Oh wow - now you’re speaking my language! That make a huge difference.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images - You deserve an award and certainly a portion of the architect's fees for this one.

The oringal front of the house rendering made me wonder if there would be a missing child's picture on the back of the house - all I could think of was a milk carton. Although nothing has really changed to the right side, I'm not longer thinking quart of milk because the center of the house is so much more warm, inviting, and balanced. Landscaping helps a lot too, as does the much warmer wood on the garage doors and elsewhere.

just a vote for more impactful & sophisticated landscaping, for me the short boxwoods emphasize the severe facade - I’d pay a landscape designer for some help

I think Celery hit it on the head..a perfect combination structurally and design wise.

    Dark trim.

AI for the win. Now all the architect needs to do is redesign the floor plan to match the outside, and you might need a new smaller car to fit in the resized garage.

I agree with the lack of continuity in the design in form and finish.

This looks like a sourse of the water for the indoor water feature.

    ^^^^^^^

The front rendering has some of the same "oversights". I guess this is what you get with computer renderings. Leave the pesky details to the blue collar types.

The new design idea is an improvement. I think a wider pivot front door would add more presence.

I think a wider pivot front door would allow you to carry through it more presents.

I wonder why the entry door is not in the middle, maintaining the symmetry.

Sometime the shortest path trumps symmetry.
