A-Series windows use a combination of fiberglass and Fibrex composite, while E-Series windows use an extruded aluminum exterior over a wood interior. Both are premium lines with wood interiors, but the E-Series is known for its extensive customization options, such as unlimited colors and dramatic shapes, while the A-Series is marketed as Andersen's best performing in energy efficiency.

If your 400 Series windows are still in good shape, I’d compare the actual differences in insulation, glass options, and frame before switching. Series A may make sense if energy efficiency is a priority, while E is more of a premium option. For a brick house, I’d also consider how each one will look with the existing exterior.
