WInterthur Iron Furniture?

I came across some pretty (and VERY HEAVY) iron furniture, faux bois branch style. They are marked Winterthur. Any knowlege here on these? Can't seem to find any info online, image search just turns up a couple of similar chairs on eBay/Chairish. Was curious of this line as I have heard of the museum called this, but not furniture? TIA! *Photo is a screenshot of a pair for sale on Chairish. These are black. The ones I have are dark green

Apparently these were originally made for the Winterthur Museum in the 1950s but the maker is unknown. The Winterthur Museum itself calls it an "Arden" chair.

@colleenoz thank you for this information! @Kendrah as with any iron garden furniture, cushions would be used to buffer the butt LOL.

@Kendrah, hard to see in the photo, but they have a good slope/angle. Not straight up and down.

I imagine they'd have back cushions too. Very nice 🙂

Sometimes we suffer for art.

They are beautiful. I'm sure they were designed without cushions. Just a place to perch in the garden for a few minutes.

Any furnishings in the faux bois style are always $$$$ and not always appreciated for their appearance.
