Always best to buy a box lay it in your space with your lighting and your stuff. Seeing this in another home is not helpful

@BeverlyFLADeziner actually, Tuftex has been manufacturing hardwood since the 40's in South Carolina. They also work with a prison in SC where they have a program where inmates learn job skills by being part of the manufacturing process (I'm not totally sure how much the inmates do). Tuftex and Shaw are under the same umbrella but I don't believe Shaw is part of this program. Just an interesting tidbit from someone in the flooring biz! ;-)

If anyone has engineered hardwoods from
Shaw or AT they like and recommend i would love input.

It's the Oil Finish that is like a unicorn. Most engineered floors do not have the oil finish. I haven't seen anyone on Houzz review an oil finish. Maybe some the wood guys that follow Houzz can speak to it.

LOL Beverly, I didn't dig that deep, I only was repeating what our vendors tell us. I agree, steer clear of an oil finish!
