Free standing tubs require space to look appropriate and function correctly. You cannot capture enough space to make that work in your space. Be more creative.

2' 8" is really narrow for master shower.

Do you really need a tub? Is there another tub in the house?

Most are opting for a much larger master shower with 2 shower heads and a bench.

Can the door to the bathroom be moved over towards the vanity so you can have a deeper shower? I have found that 48" showers are great when they are 40 - 42 " deep - very roomy.

For the tub: are you tub people? If you use the tub a lot then the critical dimension is not the over all dimension - it is the bathing well!

You want to make sure that you can relax in the tub and not have your knees scrunched up. I recommend that my customers sit on the floor with their back against the wall and measure from their foot to the wall so we know what their seated area needs to be close to.

Freestanding tubs look really nice, but the practical side of being able to clean around them can be an issue. You need to leave extra space for that. Since you are a little restricted in your space, I would get a 2 sided tub so it gives the feel of free standing but the ease of maintenance of an alcove tub.

You do not have space for a FS tub so at best a nice deep soaker where the old tub was is all you have . You need a min of 12" all arond the tub and even then you will practiaclly have to stand in the tub to clean the wall behind . The answer is no FS tub in thta space .
