How to anchor the dining area

Hi. Need help anchoring the dining area. I see so many designs have rectangular tables but I live alone and can do with a circular table when the kids all come over. If I put the dining table in the corner, and suggestions on how to even out that area. Or any other suggestions? Greatly appreciated.

Is there an electrical box in the ceiling that is positioned to take a pendent light? The table should be positioned underneath it.

Thanks for the response. I can't tell where the ceiling fan is. I rented this sight unseen. I'm relocating for a new job and I'm out of the country right now, my good friend lives there and she has good taste plus this is the largest floor plan in this price range) By the video, it looks like the ceiling fan is in the middle of the space so I was thinking (no idea if this makes sense) to have a floor lamp that arches over the table.

BTW, the living room area the window on the far left is a door to patio. The one next to it is not an actual door.

The ceiling fan is centered on the center line of the two sets of windows. It's the perfect location for your table. I would replace the fan with the chadelier or install a fandelier in its place. The fan is hidden inside the fixture see below.

The rug has to be turned the other way

A sofa will be tight. You'll have to consider an apartment sized sofa.

I guessed that one of the panels in the door was fixed and that's why I placed the lounge chair in front of it.

I don't think there is space for bar stools unless they are backless and slide completely under the countertop overhang.

Yes one of the doors is fixed. Thank you. So no issue with getting a round table vs a rectangular one?

Very cool chandelier. Didn't know that was a thing. Thanks

I've been looking at 86" wide sofas

And I figure I'll do one chair.

I want to order the couch and beds before anything else because I have a short time before Xmas when my family will be visiting. Once I'm in the space I can see what else can fit comfortably. I don't like overcrowding.

I'd consider a sofa with a bench seat instead of 2 cushions and a shorter length. 86 " is too wide. Cut 10 inches off that.

    What city is this?

I would not order anything until you move in. IKEA has a 70" sofa that you can purchase off the shelf or have delivered.

Charleston SC. My style is more of the first 2. I should be able to get in the property Dec 1 to do measurements.

Many round tables can be bought with two expansion leaves. This gives you the space you need when you want it. Even a more space friendly 36" round or facetted table can work for you.
