Having cabinets painted pure white/peppercorn

I currently have fantasy brown counters and will be having my chemist, professionally painted by a cabinet painter. The colors will be pure white from Sherwin-Williams on the perimeter and peppercorn on the Center island.

In the picture posted, it is a sample board next to pure white and my backsplash sitting on top of my counter

If you had to pick one handle from a finish perspective, do you take the left handle or the right handle?

I posted on Facebook and some people were saying pick this handle. They didn’t say left or right so I didn’t necessarily know which one… Lol.

IMO so similar I had to look twice . Why gold ? IMO a fast waning trend and honesty with fantasy brown I would do a nice thin simple stainless pull.

Gould was suggested by the Painter… And by A friend who does design and my wife seems to like it

    I’m on the fence

How do they feel in your hand? I personally like thicker pulls, especially on large drawers, so that would lead me to the one on the right. (I think it's a bit thicker than the other? A bit hard to tell.) But what's important is how the pulls feel to you and what other finishes are used in your kitchen.

Neither. And NO to the cold color combo you have happening.

Minardi…. So what do you suggest? lol… let me help you… be nice. Maybe something along these lines… personally I find that brush nickel works the best for this type of Cabinet color… Or being that you currently have those type of counters might I suggest this type of color with this type of cabinet pull.

You know… Not just being negative and walking away

I prefer the one on the right but agree hand feel’s important. I think either gold or brushed nickel can work with Fantasy Brown since it appears to have both warm and cool tones.

We just used Pure White for a bathroom redo. I tested several whites and found PW to be neutral/clean/crisp without being at all stark. Just based on your photo (which I know can be iffy), I think it looks great, especially with the counters.

Looks fine to me except I would prefer brushed nickel. I agree with Patricia, gold ( even though it’s not that garish shiny gold from the 80’s ) has been overdone recently & probably will soon be out. But, who knows? I like ( & have ) stainless steel in my kitchen & on some of my furniture ….

I like gold. But then, I've always liked gold - even when it was popular a million years ago. And then it fell out of favor and I still liked it, and now it's come back and hey...I still like it. LOL.

The nice thing about cabinet handles is they change out very easily. Just make sure to get standard sizing and you can swap them out whenever you decide you want something else. I've repainted (cheap) metal handles a lot through the years and just a $5 can of spray paint can change the look of the whole kitchen.

Anyway, that's a long way of saying, if you want the gold, get it. You're not committed to it in perpetuity. :-) I prefer handles to have some heft in my hand so I personally prefer the one on the right.

And if they're cheap-ish handles and you find you don't like the gold, I'm serious that you can spray paint them any other color you want (ORB? Stainless? Black? Whatever your heart desires!) and they do just fine. Just do quick light passes so the paint doesn't run.

Do you have stainless appliances? if so, i would go with brushed or polished nickel instead of gold. Fantasy Brown is beautiful but it is a bit dark and the reflective nature of nickel will add some brightness.

    ^Good point regarding stainless appliances.

Is the backsplash a taupe color or just gray? Or maybe griege? It's difficult to tell.

Are the outlets metal with a powder coat finish? It seems like the pulls should complement the outlet covers if they are a metal material. I'm not sure that I would use gold.

What do your floors look like? Are you able to add a sample of the Peppercorn color next to everything in a photo?

I think SW Pure White is a nice color for trim/cabinets.

I voted for the gold on the right, because, it is the nicest and prettiest, but, quite honestly, I dont like either one of them. I would prefer brushed stainless or nickel.

Peppercorn is a warm gray, and I see no problem with warm brass cabinet pulls. On any white! True brass, uncoated, develops a patina, has been around for centuries. Nobody wants to dig up a ketchup bottle and a polishing cloth- hence we have new iterations " burnished brass"..."honey bronze", a lovely alternative to the builder junk of the eighties.

The warm trend in metals is not going away soon and IF it did..who CARES! ? The "expert" proclamations of it's in..it's out, make me crazy.

A size that can be changed if YOU tire of the finish. There's no guarantee on that, btw, and it would imply KNOBS and cup pulls. ..........3"

Neither you nor anyone else shall stop the hands of time.....or trend. You will never keep up, either as images will continue to morph at speed of light.

A pro poster up above is renowned for her disdain of any "warm" finish - in every aspect of design, to include lighting temperature..

I like the white I think there are enough white tones in the counterto make it work.
