Girdling root on Shishigashira JM

last month

I have a Shishigashira that I planted maybe 3 years ago, and I estimate it to be 8 years old or so. Is this a girdling root that should be removed? The root on the right splits off and continues to grow deeper into the soil, but it is growing back towards the tree ever so slightly. I assume things may get progressively worse as the tree ages. Any advice would be appreciated.
