Your pic reminds me of ours.

Main floor kitchen ready for exhaust fan install.

...except yours is better timed. Our heavy hood is being installed with the induction cooktop at risk. Better place some heavy cardboard on top!

I didn't pay attention to the cabinetry design: specifically the height. At 5'6" I can only comfortably reach the first shelves. Let alone the absurd top cabinets, starting at 9' under the 11' high bulkheads.

The Kylie Jenner kitchen in my files. A bulkhead is fine!

@worthy - I may be in a similar position to you on Monday if they install my Blue Roma slab back splash before installing my (I am guessing) similarly ridiculously heavy range hood. I did learn from my last kitchen and I will only need a step stool for the second cabinet layer.

Almost there! Long draining process as a female owner builder but looking forward to wrap up in few weeks.

Found out our drop dead date of 12/16 is not happening.

Renting in the interim on a fixed lease would give greater incentive to finish up!

Did that twice before and the builds were lightning fast.

Now a family half the size and ten years older than when we started, it turns out the "interim" house suits us better.

    Offers below cost welcome!

Whether wood or tile, those floors would have fared better protected by RamBoard, Guardia or the like.

Our home build is on hold for probably 8 weeks. My wife was talking with me on the phone as I worked on the roof, 100 miles away, when she took a bad fall and fractured her pelvis in 4 places. I was able to get her bestie to come over to help her.

They placed a half dozen screws and a plate last week, and I brought her home yesterday after a week in the hospital.

I put up several grab bars in the bathroom I had remodeled in 2012. I put blocking in the walls for this possibility and I have preached it here, and now you can see it being employed.

    Just do it.

That is a pocket door wall with no studs, but I put in two transverse 2x4 with glue and screws at the desired height.

This side is the bad leg side and I made a high grabber.

    Easy shower rails.

I installed the Toto washlet too. It was a busy day with the hurry up and wait discharge process.

Kelly M - I am so sorry she's going through this - glad you were able to get ahold of her friend. Healing thoughts for her. Well done getting everything prepared so she can be safe during her recovery. <3

Sorry about your wife. Anyone , and I mean anyone, is at risk for accidents or surgeries that mean they need grab bars, a possible walker or wheelchair. When we built it was with wider doorways, hallways, grab bars, higher toilets, etc. ADA without the hassle of calling it that. It’s not in your face but there when you need it. I hope she feels better soon.

So sorry to hear that and hope there's a satisfactory recovery.

I feel so guilty now that I planned grab bars for the primary shower, but never followed through.

As a senior senior with failing joints and arthritic hands, I should have been more cautious.

Thank you all for the well wishes.

You can put them in anytime. I will keep beating my drum about blocking and preparing for them. That was a 2012 bathroom remodel I just put rails in.

Also hoping your wife makes a quick recovery.

In our 2021 build we put blocking in all the showers and around all the toilets. Also took photos before the sheetrock went in. Haven't bought or installed the grab bars yet, but I should really get them done in the guest bathroom used by my parents.

@worthy valid point. Learned the hard way. Painted pulled put the covering when he was done before MEP trim.

Everything looks good now with a good new with 3 days new construction deep cleaning.
